Two WordPress SEO plugins
Over the last several months I’ve researched useful WordPress SEO plugins to use on my WordPress based websites and blogs. Some are much easier to use than others. Some offer basic functionality while others offer every kind of on page search engine optimization factor you could think of.
Here’s a list of the WordPress plugins for SEO that I’ve tried, along with what I did an did not like about each.
WordPress SEO by Yoast: After you plug this in to your site, it creates a new widget area right under your page or post editor. In this area, you can enter your keyword and optimize the keyword information for the search engines. Before getting to that point though, there is a lot of information about setting up the plugin the way you want it. I had to find videos for the setup process myself. But, I added them to the membership area here at Kick Ass Website Coach.
The widget also gives you a tab to see how much of your on page/post seo targets are met – things like how many time you used your keyword in the article, where you used it, and how you used it.
Good stuff I like about this WordPress SEO plugin:
- it’s free
- it gives you the power, plus shows you what can be better on your post
- set up is overwhelming for a newbie, though it will work without tweeking any settings
- there is a lot to it – several tabs, plus the set up tabs

WP Seo Automation: This plugin is really easy to use. You’ll want to have your post written before you put it in, and you’ll have to have an idea of the keyword or term that you want to focus on. Then you enter that phrase into the widget right next to your post editor and it will auto fill, and add the right kind of seo optimization. But, you can’t use it to add the content before you write it. Check out the video to see what I mean.

Good stuff I like about this WordPress SEO plugin:
- it’s easy
- it helps add in a few of the elements you need, plus shows you what is missing on your post
- it’s not free
- it doesn’t add the keyword with all elements unless they are already in the post – I want it to be REALLY easy, so I can build my content around the elements, but this is just me being lazy.
So, what kind of WordPress SEO plugins do you use?
