It was your big idea. Not theirs.
You hired them to do a job. They did it.
Without you, they wouldn’t have a job at all.
Without your idea they wouldn’t have this job experience.
Without their work, your idea wouldn’t have happened. Have you thanked them for the work they did? Unexpressed gratitude has the same effect as rejection. Sadly, we humans need to hear it. Thank you!
Have you ever opened a door for someone, or held it open for them, at the store? Only to have them walk on by, not say thanks, or even acknowledge you? It’s not just poor manners! When we don’t say thanks or at least acknowledge the action, the message being sent is “I’m entitled.”
What about your clients (for those who offer a service)? Have you thanked them for giving you the experience, the money, the trust in you?
How about you do that now?
